It take a village to raise a child is still true in some respects in others it no longer holds true. It no longer takes an entire village to bring up a child, but the village still influences the child. Everything a person comes across in the world ultimately influences a person. So while the village no longer actually raises the child it still influences the kid. From this point of view the village is considered the world outside the home. So who the child is around, teachers ect, help to create the person the child will be. Friend are also a major influence. The experiences the child goes through are also a major factor I how the child will be.
