What makes someone an elder is having more experience in a particular field or just in life. Elders are more knowledgeable having had the experience to understand what is going on. Elders should be respected because they do know more. An elder does not always have to be older. The may just have more experience in a particular activity. Experience is the main component that determines an elder. Whoever has the more experience is the elder because he is more knowledgeable.
